What is Dreamreading?
Dreamreading is a method of working with dreams that is based on the recognition of commonly occurring motifs.
Once we recognize a motif we immediately gain a sense of orientation as to what the dreaming psyche is trying to accomplish or communicate, and also why it may be having trouble doing so. We do not know what the dream “means”, but we do gain a sense of familiarity, we can feel confident enough to re-enter the dreamscape and learn more from it.
This method can be used by anyone who would like to engage their dream life more fully.
It can also be used by practitioners of all kinds who would like to do formal dreamwork with their clients, and are seeking a method to use.
The method is facilitative rather than interpretive. It does not involve interpreting a dream; rather it is designed to help bring insights and make connections.
Most people who start using the Dreamreading method notice that their dream recall improves within a very short time. The recognition of familiar elements in their dream makes it more likely that a person will remember their dream, and also that they will be able to appreciate its relevance.
