Heal Gently presents

Using Dreams in Homeopathic Case Analysis

with Christopher Sowton, N.D., F.C.A.H.

Dream information can be very useful to classical homeopaths.

Dreams point out our distortions of thinking, feeling and perception in a clear and exaggerated way and can confirm a remedy selection.  They can also open up a whole new direction of case analysis. Using videotaped dreams and transcripts of dreams from several patients in his practice, Dr. Sowton will demonstrate different ways of using dreams in homeopathic case analysis and practice.

The following topics will be covered:

•Using the Dreams Chapter of the Repertory

•Dream information in new provings

•Using dream information as a part of the Totality of Symptoms

•Using dreams in miasmatic analysis

•Using dreams to connect to key rubrics in the Repertory

•Cases where a dream can connect directly to a remedy

A Crash Course in Human Psychology

as it is Expressed in Dreams

Sun. Nov 14, 2010

We can learn a lot about human psychology from working with dreams. But we also need a strong background in psychology to do effective dreamwork. In this workshop we will covering several key psychological concepts to provide this critical background. We will be dealing with such questions as:

What happens when the psyche is traumatized?

What happens when a child is forced to adopt a set of beliefs which are foreign to him or her?

How is dissociation depicted in dreams?

What is the difference between the ego and the superego?

What does the superego do for us and how does it appear in dreams?

Do we have an "inner guide" function in the psyche? Does everyone have one, or is it something that must be developed and learned?

What is the "shadow" and how does it appear in dreams?

How can we tell if a dream is trying to warn us about something?

Dr. Christopher Sowton, N.D.

Dr. Christopher Sowton N.D. has been a practicing homeopath and naturopath since he graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1988. His practice in Toronto is a blend of homeopathy and psychotherapy, with an emphasis on dreamwork, imagination, and depth psychology. There are strong traces of the Jungian model of the psyche in the psychotherapy component of his practice, which form a natural and synergistic union with homeopathy.

Since 2003 Christopher has been videotaping clients telling their dreams, and exploring their possible meanings and relevance. Using this body of material, he has developed a method for health care practitioners who would like to do more formal and focused work with their client's dreams. He teaches regular seminars in the Dreamreading Method, and the use of the Dreamreading Manual.
